Permit requirements and inspection sequencing are set locally, housing stock changes noticeably from one part of the valley to another, and a contractor who works your city regularly already knows what tends to be behind the walls in homes of that era. Matching you with someone who works your area saves a round of surprises, and it usually saves scheduling friction as well.
Kitchen work is scheduled rather than dispatched, so coverage across the Wasatch Front is less about drive time on any given day and more about which contractors are taking projects in your area during the window you want. A remodeler working Davis County steadily is a better match for a Farmington kitchen than one who would treat it as an outlier, even if both could physically get there.
